Wow, 1 week and 3 days. I can't believe our wedding is already almost here. It's crazy how fast time flies. And I have SOOOOO much left to do. It's really funny how you start out wanting a simple, cheap, but elegant wedding and it turns into WAY more money than you meant to spend and now there's no turning back. Seriously, we should have just gone to Vegas or Galveston. Here are some pics of my showers and parties, edited of course. Some of them are not for posting on the internet. Ha. Enjoy and see you in a week and 3 days!

Rambling bambling

Well it's been a while since I've been on here. Not much has happened.

Wedding plans are continuing. Dang it's expensive to get married these days. Especially when the bride wants rare flowers for her bridesmaids bouquettes and they're $65 a piece with 6 bridesmaids. Plus 6 honorary bridesmaids with corsages. Plus grandmothers and mothers and groomsman and ushers and grandfathers and my dad. Nothing's easy anymore, is it? I can't even pick out a song, but yet I pick rare flowers. Imagine that.

I have my first shower next week, my work shower. I can't wait! Two ladies in my office, Pam & Beverly, offered to throw me one since my other shower was so full from work invites. It was so sweet of them. Then next Sunday is my big shower. I'm really excited to see what all goodies I get. I can't wait to have a grown-up party and eat on my china. I'll make sure and invite everyone over to eat off of it. :-) Then my Fort Worth shower is May 8, thrown by my dear friend Dean Turner from law school. She's one of my honorary bridesmaids and she's abolutely one of the best people I know. She offered to throw me a shower for my school friends and I can't even explain in words how touched I am. I would NOT have made it through law school if it weren't for her and my other honoraries. They're all someone who supported me in school and for that, I am thankful.

My Dad's doing better, still a little run-down, but that's to be expected. Keep praying for him though until he's made a full recovery. I think all the wedding planning is what's keeping him together. He sends us LONG emails about details such as the food and the order of everyone coming in. I have a complicated family. I think it's cute though that he's been so involved. I'm so lucky to have such good parents, even though I used to not think so.

So that's about it that's been going on. I got fitted for my dress on Saturday. I almost paid as much in alterations as I did for the dang dress. Wow. I shouldn't have lost the 16 lbs. Oh well. I'm healthier for it anyways, or so they tell me.

I also am team captain for our Relay For Life Team again this year. Here is the site to go donate:

Please go donate! And thanks in advance.

The Lord is good

Well as many of you and many of you don't know, my Dad had a ruptured appendix last Tuesday. So we've been in the hospital all week until today. It was very scary at first, especially not knowing what was going on with his body and why he was writhing in pain. But thank the good Lord, it was only his appendix and not a heart attack or even worse. It's been hard this past week to stay upbeat and to stay focused on getting him better. I would have given absolutely anything to take the pain away from him. I would have gladly traded places with him just to see him back to his normal self. All I could think of was not having him there on June 20 to walk me down the aisle. But he's doing better. And we hope that God will continue to heal his body so that we don't have to go back to the hospital again. Please keep your prayers alive though, we're not out of the clear yet. He still has a long journey to being completely well, which includes taking insulin shots until we can control his blood sugar with diet and exercise.

That's all that's been going on in our lives for the past week. Just trading shifts of sitting with him and helping him get around. Many thanks to the friends of my parents who came and sat with us, prayed for us, and visited him the past few days. The world is a different place when you have good friends. Thanks to my friends too who have been praying and calling. It's hard to imagine my life without friends and especially without my Dad. I don't know if I could go on without him here. He's been such a supporter of me and all my crazy adventures that I've put them through in my 26 years. He's a great Dad. So when you read this, make sure your parents know that you love them. It's going to be a scary place when they're not here anymore.

I Can't Believe I'm Doing This

So, here we go.....I can't believe I'm joining the blog world, but I enjoy reading everyone else's so much, I decided it would be ok. As many of you know, Andy & I are getting married June 20, 2009 here in Corsicana. I can't wait. I'm ready for it to be tomorrow. I'm ready to be married, pay off the wedding, buy a house, buy a boat, have some kids, and live happily ever after. I'm tired of waiting. Law school sure does put a kink in life.

So I'm trying to talk Andy into going to Galveston this weekend. I really need a break from reality. Like really bad. I think I'm going crazy with this whole planning of my life thing. I'm having a hard time just letting life take its course. Like I said, I'm tired of waiting. So if any of you out there have some advice on how to just let go of the reigns and let live, let me know.

I'll try to get on here as much as possible. I'll even post some pics if I can figure out how. Hopefully they will be of us on the beach this weekend with our "kids." Our kids love the beach, especially Ali. She goes CRAZY!

Thanks for reading and thanks for caring enough to want to know what's going on in our lives! And if I'm really good, I'll even put a link to my friends' blogs so you can read them, too, especially if you're bored at work like me!!
